Sammy Sam Retires...

After 15 seasons as a force in the NBA Sam Cassell has retired to assume assistant coaching duties with the Washington Wizards.

Known for his clutch shooting and helping the Houston Rockets win two titles in the 90's, Sam played for his share of teams: Milwaukee, New Jersey, Minnesota. He was traded from the Timberwolves to the Los Angeles Clippers during the 05-06. There he contributed to the Clippers run towards the playoffs. The Clippers would end up losing that series to the Phoenix Suns just a game shy of the Western Conference Finals. After a couple of bumpy seasons with the Clippers we was sent mid season to the Boston Celtics where coming off the bench, Sam hit a few clutch shots to help the Celtics win the NBA Championship.

Eminent for his leadership on and off the court, it's only natural that Sam move on and pursue his passion.

So last night “MY” Los Angeles Clippers ended up with the #1 pick in the NBA draft for the third time in franchise history. ESPN and others had a few jokes but the Clippers will have the last laugh.

Now don’t front Danny Manning was a solid pick at #1 in the 1988 draft…he later went on to suffer a few injuries but he did carry his load. We all know the tale of the BUST that went on to become Michael Olowokandi, the Clippers #1 pick in the 1998 draft. Ok... so Paul Pierce, Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzki, Antawn Jamison, and Mike Bibby, were available in that draft and we chose the “Kandiman”, like all teams we are allowed a bust or two (all jokes can go that ((>>>>)) way).

The balls (of all things) bounced back in our court last night once they secured the top spot in the 09 draft lottery. What a difference one player can make. You see how the #1 seed worked out for the Chicago Bulls this past season. While the Clippers still need to test the free agency pool, a #1 draft pick is just what the franchise needed to get the momentum rolling.

It did my heart a little good to see EVP Andy Roeser standing tall in his Clippers Blazer last night and I have to admit I held my head a bit higher on my way to work in my Clippers jacket also.

Broke $ Boujee photo re-cap...

So it went down last Wednesday and for the 15 of us that came out in the terrible weather we ended up having a damn good time. We don't need a bunch of folks to have a good time...As you can tell. After a couple good Vodka Gimlets and good old school tunes (ok...it was music from the 90's) the party was rocking. Ya'll folks better catch up soon. Before you know it you won't even be able to get in the joint.

So I'm going to check young Drake out tonight at the HOB right but I hadn't seen what dude looked like. I've been bumping "Best I've Ever Had" for a minute now and when isn't "Every Girl in the World" on the radio. I google the name and why is it Jimmy from Degrassi: The Next Generation. Blew me...I mean I would catch re-runs before church on Sundays. I know I'm late but hell I don't watch music videos...I'm not 14. Now it's hard for me to listen to dude without laughing! I'm not mad Jimmy...not mad at all!

Former Los Angeles Clipper (yeah...it's a reach seeing he's a journeyman, having played for the Heat, Clippers, Suns, Kings, Nets, Bucks, and the Bobcats) E-House (Eddie House)went 4-4 beyond the arc and scored a playoff high 31 points off the bench. Where was he during the series with the Bulls (insert gas face). He's a known streak shooter but when he's hot...he's hot.
